Why we're publishing a build log

Nekotopia has been around since 2022, but you'd struggle to tell from the outside. The work happens in a private repository, in session notes and on the routers themselves, and almost none of it has been visible. This blog is where that changes.

What goes here

Changes to the Torus network and the regional hubs, the website, the member dashboard, bTen, and the iOS app we're building. Things that broke go here too, with what we changed afterwards. A network you're trusting with a tunnel into your house should be able to show you both.

We'll aim for a round-up each month and a short post when something notable ships or breaks. Reference material stays in the rest of this wiki; the blog is the dated record.

Catching up

We keep a written log of every working session. The first posts on this blog were written from those logs in September 2026, covering February 2026 to now, one post per month (May gets two). Each is dated to the end of the period it covers and carries a note saying it was written up afterwards.

They're summaries. Internal details such as addresses, hostnames and the specifics of security fixes are left out; the rest is what the logs say, including the bad days.

Anything before February 2026 predates the session logs and is covered briefly in Before the log.
