Messages¶
In-app messaging between you and Nekotopia staff. Also where system notices land that aren't sticky enough for the top-of-dashboard banner.
Where it lives
Sidebar: Messages (under You & Comms). Section ID: messages-section. Loader: loadMessages().
Message types¶

Empty state¶
When the inbox is zero, the Kernel empty-callout shows: inbox icon, "Inbox zero" headline, WHAT YOU'LL SEE HERE bullets describing the types above.
Reading + dismissing¶
Click a message to expand it. The inline action depends on type — staff messages let you reply; system notices typically just have dismiss.
Sending a message¶
Bottom of the page, Send to staff button opens a compose box. Goes into the admin Moderation / general inbox. Use for:
- Reporting issues
- Asking about a moderation action you don't understand
- Anything operator-facing that isn't a one-line answer
